Apple's China Exit

Growing tensions regarding tech between the United States and China have pushed Apple to make the decision to further diversify its production capabilities.

The popular phone and laptop manufacturer is seeking to reduce its reliance on China by establishing production capabilities within at least one other country. India has been used for the production of iPhones but for the purposes of MacBooks and other gadgets Apple has had to rely on Taiwanese production.

Apple is seeking to gain production capabilities within Vietnam for products such as MacBooks and Apple watches giving the company yet another fallback location in case of the event that China can no longer be reliable.

Unfortunately, due to the complex nature of creating a laptop, Apple still has numerous supply chain hurdles before any manufacturing facility can be fully operational.
