Amazon Shifts Movie Distribution Strategy

Amazon is in the works of developing new methods of providing the company’s plethora of Amazon original TV shows and movies to viewers on other platforms.

Since the beginning of Prime Video Amazon has developed quite the library of movies and TV shows as the company currently stands at roughly 4,000 films and 17,000 TV episodes. Recently, however, companies like Warner Bros have begun licensing out their content to other third parties and this strategy has proven to be fruitful.

Amazon’s upcoming strategy will be to release new movies and TV shows on the Prime Video platform but then shortly after release provide the films to other third parties in hopes of generating additional revenue. Amazon has also announced that the company intends to provide its films in more traditional settings such as movie theaters.
